FLock Web3 Agent Model replaces on-chain part of Claude on Base MCP

Base Model Context Protocol (MCP) has decided to replace the on-chain part of Anthropic’s Claude with FLock’s Web3 Foundation Model, after FLock surpassed Claude on various Web3 benchmarks.

Claude, developed by MCP’s original creators, was expected to be the default execution engine. However, in March Base ultimately chose FLock as its default model for on-chain agent execution.

FLock outshone Claude in local deployment, privacy protection, and direct onchain functionality. While Claude is a general-purpose model, FLock is purpose-built for Web3. It is fully compatible with MCP servers and optimised for blockchain-native environments.

We unveiled our Web3 model, based on Qwen by Alibaba, in March. It was immediately snapped up by io.net, OpenGradient and HashKey Chain. Base MCP joining the ranks is an exciting achievement for FLock, demonstrating our model’s real-world utility.

Trained specifically on blockchain data, its accuracy surpasses leading LLMs GPT-4o, Gemini Flash 2.0, and DeepSeek-v3 in benchmark evaluations. Read more about the model’s release here.

MCP was introduced by Anthropic in November last year. See our explainer blog.

MCP is often described as a USB-C port for AI apps. It enables standardised interaction between agent models and onchain tools. In this way, it’s a universal translator and connector for AI agents. Instead of having to code integrations, you can just plug in the MCP.

About FLock.io

FLock.io is the first DeAI training platform, combining FL and blockchain to revolutionize AI development. It enables secure, privacy-preserving training without centralising data, allowing communities to collaboratively create, train, and own AI models.

FLock’s ecosystem consists of three key components: AI Arena, a platform for competitive model training; FL Alliance, a privacy-focused collaboration framework that enhances models while preserving data sovereignty; and Moonbase, a decentralised platform that hosts and refines AI models, rewarding contributors and driving the growth of the DeAI ecosystem.
