Elite Trainer programme participant interview

FLock has welcomed the first cohort onto our Elite Trainer programme: an invite-only course for our top performers. In this blog we interview Yuan, one of the participants who has consistently been at the top of our league tables.

We are inviting the world's top machine learning engineers, AI developers, and data scientists to shape the future of decentralized AI. Become an Elite Trainer and contribute to on-chain federated model training while earning rewards.

What is the Elite Trainer Programme?

The Elite Trainer Programme is FLock's initiative to onboard elite ML talent as training nodes in our decentralised AI Arena. This exclusive program gives you access to token-gated training tasks, cutting-edge AI collaboration, and 50% revenue share in model training rewards.

It’s an opportunity to be among the first to participate in decentralised AI model training. You’ll earn token rewards, work alongside top-tier engineers, and shape the future of federated learning on-chain.

Interview with one of our Elite Trainers

1. Hi Yuan! Introduce yourself.

“I am an aerospace engineer who transitioned into the exciting world of data science. My journey into this field was fueled by a deep enthusiasm for data science, deep learning, and artificial intelligence. Early in my data science career, I actively participated in Kaggle competitions, which provided an invaluable platform for honing my skills and exploring diverse challenges.”

2. Tell us the story of how you discovered FLock and what drew you to get involved.

“I first learned about Flock through discussions with fellow data scientists who were already participating in the platform and its competitions. What immediately resonated with me is the core belief that the decentralization of AI is crucial for ensuring its benefits reach and empower humanity broadly, rather than being concentrated in the hands of a few. I was incredibly excited to learn about Flock's proposed solution and approach to tackling this significant challenge, and that's what drew me to get involved.”

3. You’ve been performing amazingly – share with us your tips and tricks.

“My primary 'tip' is that there are no true shortcuts to achieving strong results. It fundamentally comes down to relentless experimentation and perseverance. Every idea, no matter how small, has the potential to be a breakthrough, and the only way to discover that is by trying it out. Just like any significant challenge or competition, it requires the strongest will to keep going, learn from failures, and ultimately succeed. Consistent effort and a refusal to give up are key.”

4. What has been your favourite task so far?

“Without a doubt, my favorite task has been Task 6. Its focus on the multilingual aspect of challenging small language models was particularly fascinating and presented unique complexities that I thoroughly enjoyed working on.”

For context, task 6 built SEEK48, an advanced AI idol producer model designed to help idol teams precisely select members, establish unique identities, and develop the most effective debut strategies.

5. What do you hope to see in AI/DeAI and FLock in the future?

“I firmly believe that DeAI is the future and holds immense potential to benefit a wider population. The challenge is indeed immense, particularly given the tendency for large tech companies to centralize and potentially monopolize technological advancements. What Flock is doing is truly admirable; they are directly addressing this challenge and presenting a genuinely appealing and viable solution. In the future, I hope to see DeAI principles, championed by platforms like Flock, become the standard, ensuring AI development is more open, collaborative, and beneficial for all.”

6. What do you think of the Elite Trainer programme?

“I think the Elite Trainer programme is a fantastic initiative. It provides significant motivation for participants to push the boundaries of what's possible, encouraging the development of state-of-the-art models and fostering a competitive environment that drives innovation. It's a great way to recognise and incentivise high performance and dedication within the Flock community.”

Thank you Yuan!
