FLock Protocol Update – Q1 2025

Since the Token Generation Event and the official launch of the FLock mainnet, 2025 has been a milestone year for our decentralised AI infrastructure. Through strategic partnerships, rapid ecosystem growth, and technological advancements, FLock is positioning itself as the leading platform for decentralised AI training.

AND we’re just getting started.

With fresh ideas driving innovation, new team members bringing energy and expertise, and a wave of new collaborations fueling momentum, FLock is entering a bold new chapter. We're forging partnerships across borders and industries - many of which have never before integrated AI solutions.

This update offers a detailed overview of our progress to date and sets the stage for what lies ahead. As new opportunities emerge and boundaries expand, FLock remains committed to building AI infrastructure that is open, fair, and globally impactful.

1. Milestones & Network Expansion

  • Celebrated the success of our launch on Base and looked ahead to future developments.
  • Within a week of launching the mainnet, FLock reached 100 Delegation Pools with 2.8 million FLOCK tokens staked. This marked a rapid doubling in delegation pools within days.

2. Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Growth

  • DCG joined as a validator, reinforcing our commitment to building a top-tier AI model training platform.
  • A41, Korea’s largest validator by total staked assets, was officially registered as a validator on the FLock mainnet.
  • FLock was announced as Animoca Brands’ strategic decentralised AI training partner. As part of this collaboration, FLock is developing a VC research model that will analyse investment data and provide insights to VCs in our FL Alliance using federated learning techniques.
  • GSR joined as a strategic training partner to co-develop privacy-first AI models for trading strategies. GSR’s expertise as a top-tier market maker aligns with our mission to be the leading private AI training platform for Web3 AI agents and applications.
  • HashKey Cloud joined the validator set for FLock.io, strengthening our network of collaborative AI models.
  • Base adopted the FLock Web3 Agent Model to launch Base MCP, a breakthrough protocol that enables AI agents to interact directly with crypto services provided by Coinbase. Base MCP brings a Web3 operational interface to AI, making blockchain interactions seamless and automated. This positions FLock as the underlying intelligence layer for Base’s new AI-agent infrastructure.
  • Partnered with Ionet to integrate FLock’s Web3 Agent Model with Ionet’s decentralised compute infrastructure, enhancing model accessibility, scalability, and real-world applications in privacy-preserving AI.
  • Announced a partnership with OpenGradient to deploy FLock’s model on OpenGradient, making it openly accessible on-chain for public use.
  • Partnered with HashKey HSK to develop AI-powered on-chain financial solutions and AI-driven developer copilot tools, making AI development tools more accessible.

3. Research and Development Initiatives

  • Partnered with leading AI researchers: Professor Zhang Zhao (Rutgers University) and Professor You Yang (NUS & HPC-AI Tech). Their expertise in large-scale machine learning and high-performance computing is helping to advance FLock’s research in scalable decentralised learning.
  • Along side all our other academic papers, one more of our system design paper of FLock’s AI Arena was accepted for presentation at the World Wide Web Conference 2025. This is the largest academic gathering, exploring the evolution and future directions of web technologies. It’s where game-changing innovations and breakthrough algorithms were first introduced and for decades, it has set the tone for what’s next for the Web. This highlights the recognition our groundbreaking research has received, earning us a prestigious accolade.

4. Community Engagement & Industry Events

  • Main Stage Sponsor at Consensus Hong Kong, hosting a booth, participating in two panel sessions, and two interviews with international media outlets. In association with CoinEasy, we hosted a networking workshop and held an AI mystery night with Chasm. We co-hosted and featured as keynote speakers at a number of dinners with DePIN, Fenbushi Capital, Gaia, Openbuild, and Brevis.
  • Hosted ETHDenver’s RenAIssance event together with Faction and Venice, also presented at a booth on the main venue to engage with the wider AI x Crypto ecosystem, which involves multiple panel appearances with participation from Archetype, Hashed, Sahara, Plume, Story Protocol, and SatLayer. Attendees provided overwhelmingly positive feedback on the event.
  • Gold sponsor at ETHOxford at the University of Oxford’s Mathematical Institute. This is where FLock’s research and journey first began. We contributed to keynote speeches, technical workshops, supported engineers collaborating on projects, and networked with fellow industry leaders at the Gala Dinner.
  • Invited to speak on the main stage at WebSummit Qatar - a conference featuring key competitors within the global tech arena. We were recognised as a key start-up within the space with a main stage booth, and our team had the opportunity to attend events and meet with other companies to establish future partnership opportunities.
  • Sponsored the Imperial College London UK AI Arena Hackathon, where we are inviting and sponsoring top university talents to build new-generation Web3+AI retail apps with our state-of-the-art Web3 AI Agent Model. We also invited participants to take part in our AI training arena to join the latest LLM fine-tuning task to build next-generation capability smart contract security.
  • We were part of the judging panel at Base’s Onchain AI Buildathon in London - an event creating autonomous on-chain agents. The event attracted developers and AI enthusiasts eager to explore the intersection of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. We connected with a myriad of DeAI initiatives and explored innovative AI application opportunities.
